The Dining Place, Setia City Mall @ Shah Alam

Last weekend....
Well, break time and again not too sure what to eat...
Eventually we just want to grab something light to bite.

We thought of just maybe buy bread to eat, ended up... we sat down and dine in instead.

Inside the same restaurant they do sell bread and pastries as well...
Just that we are more keen with their set meal....

My Skinny friend ordered the SET A - XO Cheong Fun + Drink....
I was telling her, if it's those normal cheong fun as a NORMAL PRICE rate, it's pretty expensive.
She said shouldn't be.... well, I guessed correct.

Topped with chopped spring onions and served with crispy prawn chilli.
I wouldn't say that this meal not good though, well for RM5.90 it's worth (included drink ok..)
The texture for the roll is smooth, not dry up as well...
But of course you need to eat with the crispy prawn chilli or else it will tasteless.

It comes with the choice of drink either Iced Lemon Tea or Sirap Cincau....
We settled it with Ice Lemon Tea...
Not too sour, not too much taste of tea...
But it blends well, confused?
Blends well all I could say.

PRICE: RM6.50 (included tax)

Price Range: RM 5 - RM 20
Good For: Something different (I guess)
Bad For: Service (the order was taken 10mins ago, but the waiter came back to confirm after 15mins.. weird)

Pestle & Mortar, Setia Alam Mall @ Shah Alam

Was celebrating a close friend of mine birthday on 2nd August, recently.
Due to we work in this area and not really too sure what's for the treat... I decided to try out the Nyonya Cuisine in the mall.

Pestle & Mortar
They don't really have much choices of rice though...
Serve - Nasi lemak with Curry Chicken or Chicken Chop and Ayam Pongteh with Rice....
So in the end my friend choose..... Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken...

Nasi Lemak with Curry Chicken
Surprisingly they gave 2pcs of chicken instead of 1pc (well, that's the standard isn't it?)
I would say the curry taste good, not too much santan and the meat was tender too.
For the rice, it does have a good aroma but when comes to the taste bud.... it's bit "flat".
However, they do have pretty HOT & SPICY sambal, it did blends well with the rice.

I ordered Assam Laksa (oh well, why not give it a try right?)
Assam Laksa
Seriously.... I was surprised of the taste....
It's like the North side (Malay) laksa....
Funny part.... it consist of beancurd skin... REALLY.
I do wonder... how did it get that :p
Taste wise was ok, I mean... it does taste like the Northern side... can't expect much out of it.
Well, I was expecting a different taste of Laksa as in Nyonya style... but was quite disappointed with the one I had....

Seriously, I might need to reconsider whether to patron this place again or not... not much choices either.

Dessert

At the same time I bought a small little cake as princess's birthday cake....
By Boutique Patisserie

 Cost RM 6.90/pc
Can't recall what's the name for this cake but it's filled with chocolate...
Despite it's dessert, this cake does not taste sweet...
But of course, for me it's way too "chocolate"....
Well, for cake lover, this is a good try : )

Happy Birthday Shirly : )

PRICE: RM 25 (For the Nyonya)

Price Range: RM 2 - RM 15
Good For: Simple Luncheon...
Bad For: Not typical authentic Nyonya Cuisine.
